Jack & April
We're Jack and April Tu. Jack grew up in Mississauga, his dad in prison from the time he was 14, his mom working three restaurant jobs and his grandma washing dishes until she was 70 to keep the mortgage paid. April had lived in close to fifty homes by the time she was grown and had already decided she would never marry or have kids.
Jack quit university at 19. We met at 21, married young, and built our first business out of Waterloo with no degree between us. The thing that nearly went under wasn't the business, it was us. Two competitive people keeping score against each other. Mentors taught us to play on the same team, and that is the work we now do with other couples.
